I grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis, MN. In 1988, I married my best friend and moved to the farm. Jonathan and I have three daughters, one son-in-law, and the most adorable granddaughter! I love life on the farm, and wouldn't trade it for anything! View all posts by Carolyn Olson
Nice graphic, Carolyn!
Thank you, Brian!
You have left me thing for a couple of days. If organic farming isn’t farming like our grandparents, than what is organic farming? I have a great curiosity of the organic method. Not that I will become organic, but maybe adopt components of the organic method. You’ve probably covered this in the past, but maybe with your new self hosted site this could covered this in greater depth.
I hope to cover that a bit more in the coming months. In a nutshell, on our farm we do not use any pesticides, and do not plant any genetically engineered seeds. We use a few different methods for weed control, and keep a three year rotation schedule. We have to keep meticulous records, and are inspected annually by a 3rd party certifying agency.
